Greg Zabikow joined Rio Grande Co. in May 2024 as the Vice President, overseeing Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Insurance, Safety, Fleet, Marketing, and Events. He brings over 25 years of financial, operational, and international experience across eight industries—including banking, insurance, professional services, metal recycling, steel manufacturing, stone veneer production, plant materials, and building materials.

 

Greg spent the first 13 years of his career in finance and treasury roles before transitioning into operations and supply chain leadership over the past 12 years. This blend of expertise enables him to bridge financial acumen with operational execution—combining a deep understanding of financials, reporting metrics, and technology with hands-on business leadership.

 

Throughout his career, Greg has led numerous business transformations by evaluating existing environments, defining strategic visions, building high-performing teams, and driving change. His accomplishments include international expatriate assignments in Calgary and Amsterdam, leading turnarounds, executing cost reductions, implementing companywide technology solutions, integrating acquisitions, developing supply chain networks, and delivering strong returns for investors. During his tenure in corporate treasury, he successfully executed over 25 capital market transactions totaling approximately $5 billion.

 

Greg holds an MBA from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Business from Western Illinois University, where he was a scholarship athlete, team captain, and five-time conference swimming champion. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, hiking, camping, biking, triathlon racing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
